Get Involved

We are always happy to welcome new volunteers, no matter who you are or what your background is! Currently, our main volunteering days are:

Wednesdays: 10-1

Fridays: 10-1

Our volunteers generally meet by the visitor centre at Reddish Vale Country Park (see the map below if you are unsure how to get there!). If you are interested, please do come along - even if it is just to have a chat with your volunteers. No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to spend the morning outdoors trying to improve the local greenspaces! We don't require a regular commitment or anything, we simply appreciate whatever time you are able and willing to give to help our cause.

Although all our volunteers are willing to give up their time to work on the greenspaces for free, the equipment we need is not free! To be able to get the most out of our greenspaces, we need tools (e.g. lawn mowers, hedge trimmers), materials (e.g. wood to make benches/fences) and other equipment (e.g. safety equipment). We would be very grateful for anything you could donate that might help us in our mission to improve Stockport's greenspaces - whether it be tools/materials, a cup of tea and biscuit if you see our volunteers working on a typical rainy Stockport morning, words of encouragement or simply a cash donation so that we can buy what we need ourselves.

If you do have any materials/equipment that you no longer need and are willing to donate, please get in contact with us and we can organise to either collect from you directly, or somewhere you can drop it off for us.
